I want my focus to be on my students. I am there to help them not only recite math, but understand it. I don''t want my students going through the motions of math because they see a problem and know which steps to take. I want them to see a problem and break it down, I want them to understand why they need to use each method and what purpose the answer holds.
To do this I need to motivate my students. I need to show them how and why math is fun and exciting or even just interesting. I know not everyone finds math interesting, but my goal is to find a part of math that is to each person. I think every subject in school can be enjoyed or tolerated if you find out which part of it you enjoy.
My role in education is to make math exciting, fun, and interesting.
